Clemence Poesy & Rupert Friend Cast in LULLABY FOR PIClémence Poésy and Rupert Friend have been cast in LULLABY FOR PI, a romantic drama which will mark Benoit Philippon’s directorial debut. In Lullaby for Pi, a jazz singer (Rupert Friend) who has just lost his wife, meets a mysterious woman (Clemence Poesy). I really like Clemence Poesy. First saw her in Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire, but I think it was in In Bruges that we really saw more of her talent. I am looking forward to seeing more of her on the big screen. *uuuuuuu....looks interesting*

Killer Films Calm Rupert Friend Down with 'Lullaby'In an exclusive bit of news that hasn't made the trades yet, Killer Film's Christine Vachon confirmed that Rupert Friend, the young actor who was the breakout thesp in Berlin Film Festival's Stephen Fry's Cheri and gave a formidable perf in Jean-Marc Vallee's The Young Victoria will topline Lullaby for Pi. The France/Canada co-production will begin lensing shortly in the prairie provinces of Canada. The actor has just completed recording the songs that will be presented in the film. Friend previously starred in pictures that are mostly period pics, commencing with The Libertine and Pride & Prejudice to more recent fair like The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Virgin Territory and The Last Legion. Written by Benoît Philippon, this is about Tom (played by Friend), a bewitching blues-jazz singer. Sadly, since his wife passed away, he can no longer sing nor smile. He spends his nights in the hotel room where they first met, waiting for her phone call that will never come. He hardly sees anyone except his best friend George, the hotel desk clerk. One of these nights, a girl, running away from an insistent pursuer, rushes into Tom’s room and locks herself in his bathroom. As mysterious as her mathematical name, Pi asks Tom to sing a lullaby to comfort her. And as Tom thought he would never sing to an audience again, he starts to sing… to this girl behind his closed bathroom door.

a brand new still!!!! Rupert looking very charming* and a proper summary* Sam is a bewitching blues-jazz singer. Sadly, since his wife passed away, he can no longer sing nor smile. He spends his nights in the hotel room where they first met, waiting for her phone call that will never come. He hardly sees anyone except his best friend George, the hotel desk clerk. One of these nights, a girl, running away from an insistent pursuer, rushes into Sam’s room and locks herself in his bathroom. As mysterious as her mathematical name, Pi asks Sam to sing a lullaby to comfort her. And as Sam thought he would never sing to an audience again, he starts to sing… to this girl behind his closed bathroom door. From this magical moment on, night after night, Sam and Pi open up their hearts through the closed bathroom door. And day after day, thanks to William, a black teenager, a slam poetry singer Sam took under his wing, Sam brings his bookshop back to life and goes back on stage to be reborn in music. With a whole new life to share with others – and the help of his benevolent cupid George - Sam will eventually find a way to Pi and puzzle out her mystery…

It looks great and this looks like a true starring vehicle for Rupert -- where he is going to be the big name and be able to finally carry a film.
